It may not have been BIGFOOT, but to this Grand Junction boy, a monster truck is still a monster truck.

11-year-old Jaime Garcia, a 6th grader at Grand Mesa Middle School had one of his dreams fulfilled Monday. Jaime is suffering from a rare progressive disorder known as Juvenile Huntington Disease. It causes the breakdown of brain cells. He always wanted to take a ride in a 'monster truck.' It may not have been one of the trucks you see on television, but Jaime sure didn't seem to mind.

Thanks to some of Jaime's current and previous teachers, the ride of a lifetime was made possible. Everyone involved deserves a round of applause and a BIG thank you for their efforts.

The complete story can be found here.

The 11-year-old enjoyed a ride and then was treated to lunch at the Palisade Brewing Company.

Can never have too many of these stories. Sad that there has to be a reason, such as a disease itself, but glad others care that much and are willing to give of their time and themselves.
