A recent story in Denver revealed a 16-year-old girl was struck on her way to school by a truck and was dragged beneath it for several blocks.

Victoria McKenzie was a bright girl who made straight A's in school and had moved to Colorado from Florida in 2016. As usually happens when you move to a new place it took her awhile to get used to the people and places but was slowly emerging from that shell.

The driver, who's named has not been released hit Victoria as she crossed Buckley Rd, pinning her beneath the truck and was dragged more than a mile while other drivers honked and tried to get his attention.

When he arrived at the home, Victoria was pinned beneath the truck, wearing her shirt, jacket, and a shoe. The young lady died from her injuries a few days later.

She was alert when first responders got to the scene but ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The family is awaiting the outcome of the investigation. A memorial service is planned for Colorado and Florida.
