Palisade Peach Festival

The Peach Festival, held in Riverbend Park in Palisade, runs from August 16 through the 19, and is four days of fun and peachiness.  Get started on Thursday with the ice cream social and street dance, Friday has a whole host of events, like peach eating for both kids and adults, and the concert on Friday, featuring Soul Sacrifice, a Santana tribute band. And for those who like to run, get into the 5k and have fun in Palisade.

Telluride Mushroom Festival

I always go to Mr. Mushroom's parties, because he's a fungus. But seriously, it's a great way to learn about, and see all kinds of mushrooms. August 16-19 in Telluride. Get recipe ideas, have fun identifying mushrooms during the hike and have a lot of fun as well.

Boulder International Fringe Festival

August 15-26 brings twelve days of dance, the arts, cinema and more. If you enjoy the performing arts, make sure you have this one scheduled. each and every day is packed with seminars, shows, and interviews. Don't miss it.

Durango Blues Train

While not a festival, it's still pretty cool, and it runs for two days August 17-18. Think of it as a mobile blues festival, just on a train as it heads through the beautiful San Juan mountains. You can also get some brew with your blues.

Enjoy your summertime festivals, Colorado, while you can!
