Arrest Made In Palisade Murder

An arrest has been made in the murder case of a Palisade man

Law enforcement officials apprehended 37 year-old Matthew Mitchell, of Littleton CO. He was spotted in Aurora Sunday night.

KKCO NEWS11 reports that Mitchell has been a suspect in the October 16 murder of 51 year-old Paul Davis. According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, that incident took place around midnight in the 3600 block of G 7/10 Road, just south of I-70. Davis was killed by gunshot wounds to the stomach and chest. Police report that the murder may have been drug related.

The suspect is currently being held at the Arapahoe County jail.
