The National Retail Federation released a new report that finds Americans will spend almost $7 billion on Halloween this year.

Wow! That's a TON of Candy Corn!

Nearly 6,800 people were a part of this study. Each spending on average $74.34 on the combination of costumes, candy and decorations.

Here's the breakdown:

  • $27.37 for a cosume
  • $1.2 billion on adult costumes
  • $950 million on kids costumes
  • $350 million on pet costumes. Yes, your pets.
  • $1.9 billion for pumpkins, hay bales and other decorations
  • $2.1 billion for the delicious candy

For me, (Keyes) I wouldn't mind spending a little more for a really good costume. I get the love of this spooky holiday from my Mom, no doubt. Alright, here's a blast from the past. I'm probably 13 or 14 in this picture. My friend Brad also dressed up, but couldn't find that picture.

For me, (Riley) I don't play a big role in that statistic. My costume last year? It cost 51 cents! Big spender right here! I had everything I needed except for a head piece, so I went to the store and bought a piece of fabric and made my own. Tada! Done.
