There's yet ANOTHER scam in the Grand Valley and this time it involves taking advantage of your grandparents!

According to the Grand Junction Police Department, there have been reports of people calling unsuspecting grandparents and claiming their grandsons have been arrested in another state or country and they need bail money. The scammers also tell the grandparents not to tell the parents.

Please alert your elder loved ones and let them know if they receive a phone call like this, that it is just a scam and they need to hang up the phone immediately, and NOT to send any money.

My grandmother actually got this phone call a while ago. She almost believed it because I've spent a decent amount of time traveling and getting into trouble and it could be possible. But, she was smart enough to ask the caller what my name was and they couldn't tell her. She immediately hung up and called me to see if I was okay. And I was.
