While it is a huge disappointment that Moscow Ballet had to cancel it's Grand Junction performance of the 'Great Russian Nutcracker", local performing arts fans will be happy to know about another holiday presentation of "The Nutcracker."

Absolute Dance and Performing Arts will present "The Nutcracker" December 21-24 at Robinson Theatre in the Moss Performing Arts Center at Colorado Mesa  University.

The presentation will feature 80 local performers as well as two professional guest artists, Nicholas Patterson and Sayaka Ishibashi from Orlando Ballet.

Under the direction and choreography of Nina Duckworth and Nicole Wilkinson, The Nutcracker tells the story of a young girl named Clara, and how a mysterious gift from her uncle brings on a magical journey. Though it's not the Moscow Ballet, the show promises to deliver a high-quality performance.

Performance times are:

Wednesday, December 21     7:00PM
Thursday, December 22         1:00PM & 7:00PM
Friday, December 23               7:00PM
Saturday, December 24           1:00PM
